Bridal Shower II

Last Saturday, I got to go to the Jordan River Temple to receive my endowments. It was such a beautiful experience. And I really enjoyed seeing some of my family there. It's one of those blessings I've been anticipating for many years. I remember going to 8 of my siblings weddings and waiting outside the temple the whole time. It was really hard knowing that I was missing out on such an important event in my brothers' and sisters' lives. So I made it a goal to live worthily so that I too could enter this glorious House of God and receive these wonderful blessings.

Well, my time finally came to receive my endowments and I will be entering the Draper Temple in just a few days to have my own wedding in a "Mormon Castle." I will be with my family and friends and the man I plan on loving for time and all eternity. This is the day I've been waiting for my whole life. This is the day my life will change forever.

We went to the Provo Temple today with David's sister. It was pretty scary as it's all still new to me. But the temple workers are really nice. And they even asked us to be the witness couple! Talk about baptism by fire! It was really intimidating but, again, the workers are nice and everything went well. Here's a picture of us at the Jordan River Temple after I received my endowments:
After the endowment session, my family threw me a grocery bridal shower. It was a lot of fun to see many of my family members and meet some of David's relatives. We played some fun games, ate some good food, and received some really good presents. Thanks to all who helped with my shower. (And thanks, mom, for allowing me to use her photos).

Bridal Shower

My friends threw a bridal shower for me in Rexburg. It was a lot of fun to see all many of my friends from school one last time before I 'make my vows' -- so to speak. We started out playing a get to know you game called "I Have Never." My favorite part was throwing the saltwater taffies at other people when they said they had not done something I had.
We also played the game where Kaity Kobayashi and Katie Wilson -- who threw the shower for me -- asked David a bunch of questions about himself and about me and I had to guess what he guessed. I did a great job... ok, not really. I probably missed just less than half. But he got about half wrong on his answers as well -- There's a lot of things I still don't know about David, but luckily, I get eternity to learn about him. :-)
And then we opened presents. It was a lot of fun and my friends got me a lot of great gifts.
This gift was definitely unique. It was my 'lingerie.' It made me laugh. I will say this though, David was rather disappointed I didn't get better 'stuff.' (Hint, hint) jk ;-)
I really enjoyed my bridal shower. Kaity and Katie did great jobs planning it. I look forward to going to their showers some day.

We are now counting down on single digits. I have to admit, it's a little scary. This is the day a girl dreams about while growing up. How will I fall in love? How will I know I've fallen in love? Will I ever meet my Prince Charming? And it's just amazing to think that I've found the one I want to grow old with. I am a little nervous about what the future holds for us -- with schooling, job-hunting, and eventually raising a family ahead of us. But I'm also excited to see what we can do together. Heavenly Father has blessed me so much throughout my life. With His help, I have been able to do some things I never would have thought possible, like being in 2 church pageants, visiting almost half of the states in the U.S., even doing an internship for the Mormon Times. I'm excited to see what adventures the Lord has in store for the two of us as we unite our lives together. I'm excited and ready to take on this grand adventure!
