Valentine's Crush on I-15

On Valentines Morning, David showed up with this beautiful rose with the remaining number of days left till our wedding day written on it. I was so excited! It was a perfect start for this day that we'd planned.

But when do things ever go as planned???

The plan that we made was to drive to Ogden to pick up our amazing engagement pictures (which you have all seen, if not you should). We had to do it that day because we had an appointment to design the invitations that next Monday. We would then spend the rest of the day registering, shopping, and psyching ourselves up for what would happen 42 days later (getting married if you missed that) But as was said before "But when do things ever go as planned???" (triple question mark emphasized)

We woke up to snow that morning -- lots of snow. We figured that we had better put the most important things first. We decided to leave early for Ogden, take it slow, and then see how much time we have for other things. On the way up disaster almost struck -- we forgot the tunes!!! But we had the radio so it was ok. As we made our way into the Salt Lake City area the snow got worse and the road became snow packed. As the road started to curve David suddenly hit a patch of slush and lost control of the car. The car slid across 2 lanes while doing a 180 degree turn. We were heading strait toward the cement divider when at the last second the car turned and we missed it. We slid to a stop, faces and nuckles white and hearts up in our throtes.

We were facing the wrong direction, on the side of the road with a blizzard outside so we did the only rational thing we could think of, we got out of the car and took pictures for you all to see.

So that was our romantic near death experience on valentines day -- we made sure to kiss to make it romantic. We figure that aparently someone wants us to survive long enough to get married. It also brought into perspective how fragile life can be and how much we truly believe that we are eachother's heart's coquet and here to finish eachother's duet (what movie?)

Updates

Ok, I just thought it'd be fun to let you all know what is going on with the wedding plans. Since we've moved it up 4 months, things have been happening a little fast. Luckily, I have my dress and David has most of his tux. We even have our beautiful temple scheduled. But that's just a small part of all we have to plan for. So here are what we've gotten done so far this week:

We found this beautiful arrangement at Taipan Trading, it's a really cool store that my friend, Greg, recommended. So we're going to have a different candle arrangement on each table. My mom had some rose petals at home that we can use and some of the glass jars will have white sand in them. Also, we'll have electric candles so we can use them in the church buildings.

Also, we have been really worried about where we are going to live when we move up to Rexburg this summer. We made a few offers on some housing but were always a little too late. Today I was looking on the BYU-Idaho bulletin board and saw an apartment for $400 dollars -- a really nice deal since we were looking at places for $500-$600. We talked to the tenant about it and made the offer. It's really close to campus, has a big kitchen and lots of storage. The bedroom and living room are kinda the same room but that's ok. We'll have a bamboo shade to cover the bedroom when company comes over. Also, the tenant is throwing in a couch and the bamboo shade for about $50 and the bed comes with the apartment. What a deal! It's not very big but we feel it'll be perfect for our first apartment. We're very excited. :-) Here are some pictures the tenant emailed us.

That's it for now. But I'm sure we'll have more to post soon. We're getting our engagement pictures taken this weekend so I'll put some up when we get them. Until next time...
